Casa Larga Vineyards
Casa Larga Vineyards – We are now celebrating 45 years of producing award winning Finger Lakes wines. In 1974, Mr. C planted the first two acres in Fairport, NY, naming it Casa Larga after his grandparents' vineyards in Italy. The first harvest came in 1978 and won three awards at the NYS Wine Competition. Estate White (currently Pallido) and Estate Red (currently Tramonto) were those first wines. Mr. C's dream came true and passion, patience and tenderness were his gifts to the vines and the wines they produced. Mr. C's hobby matured into a larger business, and Casa Larga became the 21st licensed winery in New York State. Casa Larga has now entered the golden era of New York State winemaking, becoming an icon, as well as a sparkling jewel of the Finger Lakes and Rochester regions. We are home to the New York State Ice Wine Festival every February and the Purple Foot Grape Stomping Festival every September. Experience the Italian Way of Living, with wine, food and family.

Winery own by an Italian winemaker, uses estate grapes to make his wines. Find Italian varietals like Nebbiolo, Aglianico, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Nero d'avola, and some other French ones like Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. It has a beautiful view of the Guadalupe Valley from the tasting room. It's classified as a boutique winery.

Ellwood Mesa Open Space area (which includes the Goleta Butterfly Grove) and parking lot are currently closed due to impacts from the February 2024 storm. Many trees have fallen and there is the potential for more to fall. Thank you for your cooperation. Monarch butterflies migrate each year to the Goleta Butterfly Grove to find protection from freezing temperatures and winter storms. They can usually be seen here from mid-October through February. Monarch populations have varied greatly in recent years, from almost none in 2020-2021 to over 26,000 in 2023-2024. Eucalyptus trees in the grove have suffered greatly over the last decade from beetles, extended drought and winter storms. The City of Goleta is working to enhance the butterfly habitat, protect the public, and reduce the risk of fire. Visitor information and current monarch counts can be found at GoletaButterflyGrove.com.

Come spend a weekend with us tasting exceptional wines in this very non-traditional setting. If great wine is what you seek, come pound the pavement for a while and discover the treasures of the Lompoc Wine Ghetto. FAQ When are you open? All weekends, with some Mon. & Thurs. Visit our website to see each winery for hours Can I bring my children? By law, no one under the age of 21 is allowed in tasting rooms (please bring valid government issued photo I.D.)
