A museum of railroading and rail transportation in the Mahoning Valley. With over two dozen railcars and locomotives in the collection, Marter Yard has the largest assemblage of historic rail equiment in the area. Railroading was an important part of the industrial development of the Mahoning Valley and Marter Yard aims to preserve that history by presenting a park like atmosphere.

The J&L Narrow Gauge Railroad operates an actual steam locomotive over a short stretch of track in Youngstown, OH. Visitors can ride behind our 1937 Porter saddle tank locomotive that once moved steel ingots at a Pittsburgh steel mill, as well as see various other pieces of railroading and steelmaking equipment on display. Operated entirely by volunteers, the J&LNG is also the only regularly scheduled operating steam locomotive in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

Discovery Space is a growing science center and makerspace based in State College. Our science center offers interactive STEM exhibits and hands-on programs in a fun learning environment. Our makerspace, The Rivet, helps our community build the skills to make or fix just about anything. Continually seeking to spark curiosity and creativity, we serve everyone from toddlers to seniors. Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The Bryce Jordan Center, located on the campus of the Pennsylvania State University, is centrally located within the state of Pennsylvania and the only entertainment facility of its size in the region. The 15,000-seat Jordan Center hosts circuses, sports exhibitions, family shows, commencements, lectures, and Big Ten Basketball, as well as some of the top-name performers in the music entertainment industry.

Lehigh Gorge trains, a trademark of the Reading and Northern Railroad, take a 70 minute round-trip tour following the Lehigh River over bridges, through Glen Onoko, into the Lehigh Gorge State Park. High-rising cliffs and mountain scenery surround the train along the route to Old Penn Haven. You will see hikers, rafters, mountain bikers, and wildlife along the railroad. You will learn about railroad lore, wildlife, the history of the anthracite coal region, and the people who launched America into the Industrial Age. The Staten Island Children’s Museum features 10 indoor and 2 outdoor exhibits, a dedicated art workshop and a performance space. This comedic interactive experience sends you on a mission to assist a bunch of ex-cons lookin’ to skip town.
