The Sanctuary's living museum is home to over 30 different species of native songbirds and raptors, that due to an injury can no longer survive in the wild. These birds permanently reside at that Sanctuary as ambassadors for their species. All live bird displays are outside and wheelchair and stroller accessible. Parking is limited. Please do not park along the entrance drive or on Orweiler Road. An admission fee to enter the bird display area supports the care of our birds. $3/ child (under 2 years free) and $5/adult (16 years and over) $3 for military and individuals residing in assisted living centers. The first era of the Lexington Brewing Co. began in the 1890s and came to a halt during Prohibition, changing ownership several times in the decades that followed. By the time Pearse Lyons and his son, Mark, explored the brewery in 1999, it was a dilapidated shell of what it had once been. However, Pearse was a visionary and entrepreneur and saw only what it could be. Spurred by a passion for brewing and distilling that courses through the Lyons family lineage of Irish coopers, Pearse revived Lexington Brewing Co. and restored a craft beer tradition that dates back to the 1700s. Pearse continued to dream big as he set his sights on distilling — a natural progression given his background in fermentation, his family’s heritage and Kentucky’s bourbon tradition. Two copper pot stills that were commissioned from Scotland arrived at Lexington Brewing Co. in 2008. In 2012, Town Branch Distillery opened, first new distillery to be built in Lexington, Kentucky, in more than 100 yrs.

The Old Tavern was built in 1827 on Broad Street, now University Blvd., in downtown Tuscaloosa as it became the Capitol of Alabama. The Old Tavern was saved from demolishing and the building of the Hugh Thomas Bridge in 1966 when a group of citizens formed to move the Tavern from its old location on University Blvd. to Capital Park where now resides. The Tavern not only served as a place for early prominent politicians of the State to bed, but also as a gathering spot for their families and others as it was a major stop on stagecoach lines. The Old Tavern is of French design and stands apart from early Alabama architecture in the State. The first floor features gathering areas for guests where meetings could take place as well as a common dining area. The second floor has bedrooms for guests and a small area for gatherings. The Old Tavern offers free museum tours five times a week and boasts a small event space for 20-40 guests.

The Presbytere was designed in 1791 to match the Cabildo, alongside St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter. It stands today as a beautiful reminder of both Louisiana's singular past and its vibrant present.The Presbytere, originally called Casa Curial or "Ecclesiastical House," was built on the site of the residence, or presbytere, of the Capuchin monks. The building was used for commercial purposes until 1834 when it became a courthouse. In 1911, it became part of the Louisiana State Museum. Two exhibitions are on display-"Living with Hurricanes: Katrina and Beyond" tells of rescue, rebuilding and renewal, and "Mardi Gras: It's Carnival Time in Louisiana" captures the fun and fantasy of the annual celebration.
