A trip to Terneuzen Locks starts with a visit to the interactive Information Centre and can be followed by a guided tour or doing a tour by boat. The lock complex forms an essential link between the Westerschelde and the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal, one of the busiest canals in Europe. Almost 70,000 ships and boats pass through here annually. Approximately 250 companies are located within the Canal Zone, accounting for 20% of the employment in Zeeland. The port is in a constant state of development and fulfils an important international role, as you will see in our Information Centre.
