The Industriemuseum Lauf is all about life and labour of urban workers and craftsmen from 1900 to 1970. The area of the museum on the banks of the river Pegnitz is part of the historic quarter of trade and industry just outside the town centre of Lauf. All buildings kept their unaltered layout and in the case of the Dietz & Pfriem valve factory even the original interior had been preserved. Due to a minimum of conservatory interference the museum has retained an authentic atmosphere. The idyllic location at the river Pegnitz, the originality of its listed buildings and the detailed presentations are further impressive features of the museum. Our demonstrations enable the modern visitor to sensually experience the working conditions in former times.
