Hidden behind Bjørn Nørgaard's great water fountain at P. Nørkjærs Plads is Vendsyssel Art Museum. The museum has the region's largest collection of Danish art and crafts spread over four floors. Here visitors can have the rare experience of witnessing the connection between the work of the artists and the Danish landscape outside of the museum. The permanent exhibition contains the artwork of the remarkable sculptor and painter Niels Larsen Stevns. Additionally, the museum has a rich collection of compositions from Poul Anker Bech, Johannes Hofmeister, Svend Engelund, Kristian Hildebrandt and others.
