Founded by Randolph “Bud” Schiele in 1961, The Schiele Museum of Natural History is committed to providing visitors with experiences that inspire curiosity about science and the natural world. The Schiele’s exceptional museum exhibits include dinosaur fossils, wildlife displays, gems and minerals, and American Indian artifacts. In addition, the museum has a state-of-the-art planetarium, a Nature Trail, a replica Catawba Indian Village, and “The Farm”, a showcase of local agriculture and live animals. The museum is proud to offer learning opportunities for all ages through children’s camps, after-school programs, and public events.

Arts on Main is home to the Gaston County Art Guild, an organization that has been in existence for more than 50 years. Arts on Main consists of the Kiser Art Gallery, the Munn Photography Gallery, a Featured Artist Corner, Gift Shop, and more than 20 working Artist Studios. We are free to the public.
