Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center is a full service performing arts and convention center, providing citizens and visitors with a diverse selection of entertainment and meeting opportunities. The ensuing mission of Century II is to provide an economic benefit to Wichita through its use as a performing arts and convention center. The facility is owned and managed by the City of Wichita and is unique among other municipal facilities. This uniqueness is due to its dramatic architectural style, the nature of the business, the vast number of services provided, the diversity of clients, its importance to the downtown area, and the economic impact it has on the community. Century II strives to provide the highest quality of customer service that includes a clean and safe venue for private and public gatherings, encompassing the performing arts, conventions, trade shows, banquets, meetings, public exhibits, religious programs and special events.​

The Keeper of the Plains stands at the confluence of the Big and Little Arkansas rivers with hands raised in supplication to the Great Spirit. Renowned Kiowa-Comanche artist Blackbear Bosin donated the Keeper of the Plains to the citizens of Wichita on May 18, 1974.Since the sculpture's installation to commemorate the United States Bicentennial, it has become a symbol for the city of Wichita and a tribute to the local American Indian tribes. in 1974. A complete renovation of the sculpture and installation of the Keeper of the Plains Plaza now brings people out each evening to see the Keeper and the "Ring of Fire." The 44-foot Cor-Ten steel Keeper of the Plains statue is now 30 feet higher than before with its new pedestal,surrounded by a plaza which describes the Plains Indian way of life. The Keeper also serves as the focal point of an eight-year, $20 million restoration and river beautification project completed in May 2007. Pedestrians can access the area via two bow-and-arrow-inspired cable-stay bridges which span the Little and Big Arkansas rivers. Fire drums on boulders at the foot of the Keeper dramatically light the night. Plantings of sage, bottlebrush, medicinal herbs, prairie grasses, yuccas and cactus add to the sense of place and time. The area is free and open to the public year-round.

The Mid-America All-Indian Center is the only facility of its kind in Kansas that is solely dedicated to educating people about and preserving the art and culture of American Indians. The Indian Center invites visitors to stroll through its many areas that include: A museum with exhibits of contemporary art and cultural artifacts that depict the American Indian nations of the past and present. Many of the exhibits have interactive aspects and hands on items for the kids. Seasonal outdoor learning center, which include a full-size tipi and native gardening area. Gift Shop selling American Indian-made items, music, movies, jewelry and Keeper of the Plains items. Large indoor area, known as the Gallery of Nations, contains nearly 100 flags of Indian nations. It is the area where special events and private rentals take place. The center not only showcases local tribes, but those throughout the United States and Canada. It is not affiliated with one particular tribe, so the Mid-America All-Indian Center is a place where are American Indians and the general public can come to share their experiences, learn and interact with each other. There are 10,000 American Indians representing 73 tribes in the Wichita area.
