Today, the Menil Collection consists of a group of five art buildings and green spaces located within a residential neighborhood. The Menil remains committed to its founders’ belief that art is essential to human experience and fosters direct personal encounters with works of art. The museum welcomes all visitors free of charge to its buildings and surrounding green spaces.

Axelrad Beer Garden
Axelrad is all about celebrating Houston, being outside, and relaxing. Conceived as a community-gathering place offering beer, wine, drinks, Luigi's pizza, live music, and the city's only hammock grove, Axelrad aims to be a place for all. The bar's interior is housed within a 100-year-old renovated building, originally a grocery store built by David and Gertrude Axelrad. Artists added to the beautiful historic interior with tap handles by Venezuelan-based Maria Rangel, seating by New Living's HTX Made, and textiles by Austin-based Nido.
