Casa Larga Vineyards – We are now celebrating 45 years of producing award winning Finger Lakes wines. In 1974, Mr. C planted the first two acres in Fairport, NY, naming it Casa Larga after his grandparents' vineyards in Italy. The first harvest came in 1978 and won three awards at the NYS Wine Competition. Estate White (currently Pallido) and Estate Red (currently Tramonto) were those first wines. Mr. C's dream came true and passion, patience and tenderness were his gifts to the vines and the wines they produced. Mr. C's hobby matured into a larger business, and Casa Larga became the 21st licensed winery in New York State. Casa Larga has now entered the golden era of New York State winemaking, becoming an icon, as well as a sparkling jewel of the Finger Lakes and Rochester regions. A Peoria Park District facility, Forest Park serves as the doorway to more than 500 acres designated as part of the Illinois State Nature Preserve. The center provides visitors with more than seven miles of trails that lead through dense forest, along trickling stream beds, and over dramatic hillsides. The A-frame trail head features a small natural history museum, nature store, and a room dedicated to bird-watching. Trails and museum are free and open to the public. NO PETS ALLOWED!
