When the Diocese of Orange purchased the church and its 34-acre complex in 2012, Catholic leaders committed to respect the famous site’s legacy while transforming the unique building and grounds into the vibrant new heart of worship for the 1.3-million Catholics living in Orange County. The Christ Cathedral campus is a landmark beacon and growing spiritual center for the Christian faithful in Orange County and is filled with a collection of architecturally significant buildings. The buildings located on the 34-acre campus total almost 320,000 square feet. Buildings include the; Christ Cathedral, Arboretum, Large and Small Galleries, Tower of Hope, Crean Tower, Diocese of Orange Pastoral Center, and Cathedral Cultural Center.
