Step back in time and learn about Gallatin County’s heritage. The Gallatin History Museum in Bozeman offers a unique glimpse into the area’s past. Located in the former county jail building (1911 to 1982), the museum maintains displays illustrating the unique histories of a variety of people who have called Southwest Montana home. Permanent and changing exhibits feature early area history and artifacts, unique local stories, photography, a life-sized pioneer cabin, agricultural history, and jail and law enforcement displays. Visit the museum's Montana and local history bookstore and active research library. Staff are available to assist with research projects, genealogy, and photograph archive questions. The Gallatin History Museum is a 501(c)(3) non profit and does not receive any tax dollars but instead relies on memberships, donations, and memorials to operate. Members receive a magazine that features articles on local history, free admission and bookstore discounts.

The Lewis & Clark Brewery is a state-of-the-art brewing facility located in the heart of America’s last great place – Montana. The great explorers are the inspiration for our brewery’s name and in many ways our brewing style. Since our beginning, we have gone to the greatest of lengths to build one of the most efficient, sophisticated breweries around with one goal in mind: to produce the finest ales & lagers possible and serve them at their peak of freshness. For a more revealing experience, join one of our hosted trail tours and enjoy learning about the wonders of the alpine world of Sunshine Meadows and more as you through some of Banff National Park’s most spectacular spots. Feel on top of the world when you summit Mt Standish via our Standish Express Sightseeing Chairlift. With an elevation of 2,400m/7,875ft, it will give you a full 360 degree view of the area. From here you can enjoy an unobstructed view the famous Mount Assiniboine – the Matterhorn of the Canadian Rockies at 3,618m/ 11,871ft – as well as other joys on the horizon, such as Rock Isle, Laryx and Grizzly Alpine lakes. There are three retail stores awaiting you for all your hiking essentials and Canadian Rockies souvenirs. After taking in the captivating views, indulge in one of our six licensed food outlets, including four fully serviced restaurants, including a BBQ deck of outside Mad Trapper’s Smokehouse. At the Banff Canoe Club we think everyone should have access to the wonderfully Canadian sport of Canoeing. Rent a canoe, kayak or SUP and explore the gentler section of the Bow River or head up forty mile creek into Vermillion Lakes. Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary is a non-profit animal sanctuary located east of the Rocky Mountains near Cochrane, Alberta. Our mission is to provide rescued wolfdogs with a meaningful and fulfilled life, while offering experiential education to promote the well-being and understanding of wolfdogs within our domestic world. Waterfalls, a canyon , the Siffleru River and the majestic Saskatchewan River are some of the joys of this accessible hike. The hike can be done year round and provides a wonderful perspective on the Kootenay Plans where the native Indians spent their winters due to the warm climate of the area. The science centre features interactive exhibition galleries for all ages. The planetarium is the largest in Canada and shows are included with science centre admission. The IMAX Theatre has the largest screen in Alberta and plays both documentary films and Hollywood movies. The centre hosts travelling feature exhibitions several times a year, with past blockbuster exhibitions being Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Body Worlds.

The Alberta Railway Museum, located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is a heritage outdoor display of railway equipment and buildings. It was constructed with the vision of preserving and interpreting the heritage of Canadian National Railways, Northern Alberta Railways, and short lines and industrial railways from Western Canada. The Museum replicates a small terminal with the original St. Albert station, a water tank from Gibbons and various buildings, locomotives, railway cars and track maintenance equipment. Being recognized as a historical landmark, the museum receives various requests annually for use as a monumental location for various events including weddings, birthdays and various celebrations. The artifacts provide a great stage for photography and videography. We are open seasonally Saturday to Sunday and Holiday Mondays, from Victoria Day to Labour Day from 10 am to 5 pm.
