See website for details. The tour involves going up and down steps and takes about an hour. A four room genealogy library is available to guests on the second floor of the jail. Librarians are on duty to assist with research. The Society also operates the John Brown House. Report to the jail first if taking a tour of the John Brown House. The McLean County Museum of History traces its roots back to 1892, the year the McLean County Historical Society was founded. It is a nationally accredited award winning museum with five permanent exhibit galleries and two rotating galleries.
