Messina Hof Grapevine Winery

Messina Hof Grapevine Winery is located in Historic Downtown Grapevine at The Wallis Hotel. The original Wallis Hotel was built in 1891 by Johnny Wallis for his sister, Susan. The Wallis Hotel often accommodated traveling salesmen and other agricultural business leaders. The Wallis family ran the hotel until 1926, and it was eventually torn down in the 1930s. A replica was built on Main Street, which is where Messina Hof Grapevine calls home, many original pieces are on display in the winery. Many have often stopped to take a picture with the, "Sidewalk Judge", who sits on the park bench outside the hotel and monitors everyone's comings and goings. A salute to Grapevine's old-timers who could determine if a stranger who had come to town was in trouble or down on his luck. This location is Messina Hof’s first urban winery and also features multiple tasting areas with 40 different wines, tastings & premium flights, wine on tap by the glass or growler, gourmet food items & accessories.

Landry Vineyards was established in 1999 by Jeff, Libby and their four sons; Ethan, Kohen, Noah and Micah along with the loving labor of family and friends. The first grape vines planted were two acres of a white European American hybrid grape, Blanc Du Bois, with plans for 2003 expansion including a red grape, Cynthia/Norton. Landry Vineyards was licensed as a Louisiana Native Winery in 2003. The first vineyards were established in Folsom, La. where the winery was also located. Soon after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the Landry's used the storm opportunity to relocate to higher ground. They now reside in the beautiful hill country of West Monroe, La on a 20-acre site including a new winery, vineyards and beautiful tasting room. The Landry family strives to produce quality Louisiana wines that are distinctive to the region while complimenting the rich flavorful Cajun Foods of our French Acadian Heritage. Landry Vineyards wines may be purchased in 450 stores throughout Louisiana, from our website or by visiting Landry Vineyards in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Located on Mobile Point, at the end of Scenic Fort Morgan Peninsula, the site has a diverse number of activities to make your vacation a memorable one. Preceded by another fort, Fort Bowyer during the War of 1812, Fort Morgan is a Third System masonry fort built between 1819 and 1833. Standing guard where the bay meets the Gulf of Mexico, the fort played a significant role in the Battle of Mobile Bay in August 1864. Used intermittently through the Spanish American War, World War I and World War II, the site showcases the evolution of seacoast fortifications and adaptations made by the U.S. Army for the defense of the country.
