Clumber Park

Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Originally home to the Dukes of Newcastle, Clumber is steeped in history with a splendid 83 acre lake, a four acre walled kitchen garden and a magnificent gothic Chapel. Today Clumber offers freedom to discover a ducal park and provides a haven for spotting wildlife within an idyllic setting. There is plenty of space to explore and relax with family and friends with over 20 miles of accessible walking and cycling routes for all ages and abilities. Bikes can be hired from the Cycle Hub, open at weekends and Nottinghamshire school holidays. There's something on offer for children of every age. Have fun den building in Leaping Bar and enjoy climbing, hiding and exploring in the hidden Woodland Play Park. The Discovery Centre is a must see when visiting. It's a great place to learn more about Clumber Park's history, the amazing array of wildlife and get involved in fun, seasonal activities.

Discover a legacy etched in stone with cave art 10,000 years older than the pyramids, and medieval Witch Marks as a reminder of more superstitious times. Explore life on the edge of the Ice Age world. Creswell Crags features the only authenticated Ice Age cave art in Britain. Stone tools and remains of animals found in the caves by archaeologists provide evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age between 50,000 and 10,000 years ago. Robin Hood Cave has more apotropaic Witch Marks than anywhere else in the UK. The unique archaeology, geology, wildlife and fauna have resulted in Creswell Crags being one of the most protected sites in the UK. Mr Straw's House

Most National Trust properties inspire thoughts of historic mansions, wealth and grandeur. However, tucked away in a private cul-de-sac in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, you’ll find Mr Straw’s House; the National Trust’s first small domestic property, acquired in 1990. Mr Straw’s House is a preserved 1920s period home of a grocer's family, virtually unchanged since the Straws moved there in 1923. A true step back in time, come and discover more about the family who refused to modernise. Visitors can spend time in the display rooms, hear stories of the family and get a glimpse of some of the collection usually hidden away in drawers and cupboards. There is also the opportunity to chat with the Collections & House team about how they care for over 30,000 treasured possessions and ordinary domestic items that can still be seen exactly where their owners left them.

The Harley Gallery

The Portland Collection Museum displays works of art from Welbeck’s internationally significant historic collection, which has been built up over the centuries by the Dukes of Portland and their families.
