The "Warabi Hata Festival" has been held since 1951 in Warabi City, where the cotton industry thrived from the late Edo period. Originally it was an event to pray for the prosperity of the textile industry, and it has since come to be referred to as one of the three major festivals of Warabi. The festival is centered round August 7th, the date that the man who developed the cotton industry, Takahashi Shingoro, began his textile business, and takes place over a period of four days.
