Hurricane is a 3 day summer music festival that takes place at the same time as The Southside festival, its twin in the south of Germany. They share the same lineups, only Hurricane is in Scheeßel, near the northern city of Bremen. It now attracts up to 130,000 people (including The Southside festival) and was nominated as Best Major Festival by the European Festival Awards 2015, having started back in 1997. Hurricane presents an alternative style of music with a mix of international artists, German bands and newcomers. Recent acts have included Arctic Monkeys, Rammstein and Dropkick Murphys.
