Moraca River

Clock Tower

Vladimir Vysotsky Monument

On the shores of Moraca, there is a monument erected to honour the famous Russian poet, theatre and film actor and writer Vladimir Visotsky, who resided in Podgorica while working on a film for the erstwhile Titograd TV station. He expressed his love for Montenegro in his poem ''For the Montenegrins'', and this is his only monument outside the borders of the former Soviet Union.

St. George's Church

This is an Orthodox church in the foothill of the Gorica hill, built between the 9th and 11th centuries, and it is part of a group of pre-Romanesque monuments. This is also the oldest preserved building in Podgorica. Beneath the altar there is a small subterranean passage, which was believed to have led to Duklja.

Delta City Podgorica is the first and the largest shopping mall in Podgorica. It was built at a cost of €60 million, and was opened on October 1, 2008. King Nikola Monument

The first monument in the Capital dedicated to Prince and King Nikola I Petrovic Njegos, the seventh and last state ruler from Montenegrin dynasty Petrovic-Njegos. It was erected in 2005, on occasion of celebrating the Day of Liberation of Podgorica in WWII, and it is located on a plateau across the road from the Parliament of Montenegro.

King's Park

The Park was opened back in 1910 to honour the coronation of King Nikola, and its new look is a donation by the Government of Azerbaijan, as a gift to the Capital. The Park houses the busts of Bozidar Vukovic Podgoricanin – a state official at the court of Ivan Crnojevic, Azerbaijani poet Hüssein Cavid, as well as a large light-lit fountain and a children’s playground.

Osmanagic Mosque

Built in the 17th century, this Mosque is located in the old part of Podgorica, Stara Varos. Its courtyard houses the Tomb of hajji Mehmet-Pasha Osmanagic, who was credited with building the mosque, but also the Sahat Kula (Clock Tower), another of the symbols of the Podgorica of old.

Duklja Ruins

Three kilometres away from Podgorica, in a valley at the confluence of the rivers Moraca and Zeta, the ruins of the ancient town of Duklja are located. Duklja is first mentioned by Ptolemy, general in the army of Alexander the Great, in the 2nd century BC. Today this place is one of the most valuable testimonies of presence of the Roman Empire in Montenegro.
