At Nyborg Castle you can visit the halls where the Danish king in the Middle Ages called the parliament (Danehof) together. The oldest part of the Mayor's Yard (Borgmestergården) is from 1601. The building and its additions house the historical museum in Nyborg. In the cobblestoned courtyard, you will see fine examples of old fire trucks, and the entrance to the smithy is also here. You can eat your bag lunch in the courtyard, too, on the tables and benches there.
