Northumberland Zoo
Eshottheugh Farm, Morpeth NE65 9QH England
Northumberland Zoo is a family-run, not-for-profit zoo based in the heart of the countryside. From tiny Harvest Mice to fluffy big Snow Leopards, there are over 100 different species of Mammals, Birds, Reptiles and Invertebrates to see. Every day, we host a range of different Animal talks, including our Birds of Prey flying display in our Wild Theatre. As members of BIAZA (British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquaria) we have better than average standards in all things Zoo - from our spacious animal enclosures to our conservation and education programmes. We participate in a number of different conservation programmes including the vital work that the Snow Leopard Trust carries out in the wild. We want our animals to be as comfortable as possible, by providing them with enclosures where there are plenty of areas to hide away if they would like a break from visitors, we do not force any of them on-show. We encourage visitors to spend time spotting the animals in their habitats.

Stanton Hall Gardens and Nursery
Stanton Hall, Morpeth NE65 8PR England
Stanton Hall is situated west of Morpeth in Englands northern county, Northumberland. A small family run business, it offer something different from the larger garden centres. The gardens here at Stanton Hall have evolved as the business expanded over 30 years to the mature and wide-range of planting that we have today. Each time more area has been opened up to stage plants for sale, separate areas of gardens have been created. Our gardens show what can be achieved with the plants that we sell in the Nursery. They also are set out to give ideas about colour, grouping and mixtures of shrubs, perennials, herbs and general planting structures. The gardens are best from May onwards and are free to visit.

Bide-a-Wee Cottage Garden
Stanton,, Morpeth NE65 8PR England
Although it may be hard to discern, Bide-A-Wee Cottage Garden wasn’t always the flourishing landscape we see now. In fact, the foundations of the garden are built upon an old quarry site, which helps to give the garden its ‘rocky outcrop’ aesthetic and provides a variety of platforms for planting.
