The Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) is Launceston's cultural hub and Australia's largest regional museum. QVMAG holds a national profile for its collections of Tasmanian art, history and natural science. Located across two sites: the 1870s era railway workshop Museum at Inveresk and an 1891 Art Gallery at Royal Park. The Museum at Inveresk is home to railway workshops and permanent exhibition Tasmanian Connections. Highlights include dinosaurs, native Tasmanian species, convict history, artefacts from Australia's oldest shipwreck, the Phenomena Factory and the Launceston Planetarium. The Art Gallery at Royal Park features temporary and permanent exhibitions which bring the histories, identities and stories of Northern Tasmania into a fresh and contemporary context. Both sites are connected across the Launceston CBD with walking and public transport options available.

Visit during our feeding/talk times to learn about the Tasmanian devils, little blue penguins, meerkats and our big cat species! Our Tasmanian devils are fed daily at 10:30am, 1:00pm & 3:30pm. You can also book ahead to have a devil encounter at these times! The little blue penguins are fed daily at 3:50pm. You can catch the servals, lions & tiger talk daily at 2:30pm.
