Seiseki Kamata Umeyashiki Park
3-25-6, Kamata, Ota 144-0052 Tokyo Prefecture
The history of Umeyashiki Park starts with planting hundreds of plum trees and flower trees in the site of the medicinal office of Wakkanaku (medicinal medicine in the road) in the Edo period and making a rest day tea house in Tokaido. At the time it was crowded with plenty of people as plum spots, and since the Meiji era, the Emperor Meiji liked much and it is recorded that it passed nine times. After that, the owner changed and the area became smaller, but since 1954 it became a park. About 100 plum trees are planted. In addition, we ordered eleven kinds of mischiefs from Nagai City, Yamagata prefecture famous for "Ayame", planted in our park. We plant Nagai old seed which is Nagai's original variety. The time to look around is May to June.
