Grove Vineyards & Winery specializes in growing and crafting exceptional European-style wines from our estate vineyards. The main estate vineyards, winery, event facilities and tasting room are located just 7 miles northeast of the Greensboro city limits in the the federally recognized Haw River Valley wine country, a short drive from anywhere in the Triad or Triangle. The sloping, mineral-rich estate vineyards feature wine grapes that thrive in this microclimate like Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Tempranillo, etc. Grapes are hand harvested and used for a limited production of 3000 cases of premium wine each year. The Grove tasting room is open noon-6pm daily for tasting, however Winter hours Monday and Tuesday the tasting room is closed but Wed-Sunday we are open 12-6pm, shopping or simply a glass of wine on our dock overlooking Lake Cabernet.

Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum

The Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum is North Carolina’s first official State Historic Site to honor an African American and a woman. The site is the former Palmer Memorial Institute, an elite African American boarding school established by Brown at age 19 in 1902. The historic site opened to the public in 1987 and has as its mission to preserve and interpret the history and cultural legacy of Dr. Charlotte Hawkins Brown, Palmer Memorial Institute and African American education. Visitors can explore and learn about a unique environment where many African American boys and girls lived and learned during the greater part of the 20th Century.
