Eldridge Park

Eldridge Park is Elmira’s premier historic family amusement park. With a rich history going back to the 1860s, the park welcomes visitors to gather in a safe, healthy and fun environment. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful lake, relaxing walking and biking paths, off-leash dog park, picnic areas, playground, skate park, 9-hole disc golf course, and 2500 square foot splashpad. On weekends during the summer, you can ride the fastest traditional carousel in the United States. The crown jewel of the park is an 1890s Charles Looff Carousel that was installed in 1924, it is also one of only 20 remaining carousels that have an operating brass ring feeder. The park also features other amusements such as miniature golf, paddle boats, Tiltawhirl, flying scooters, miniature train, pony carts, turtle chasers, and miniature boats. While taking in the rides, you can also visit the museum, grab an ice cream at the café, or catch a show on the stage.

The National Soaring Museum houses a world-class collection of sailplanes and gliders, preserving the history and heritage of motor-less flight. NSM is located next to an active glider port, allowing visitors to witness takeoffs and landings, especially during the busy summer months. Public glider rides are available on a first-come, fist-served basis. Harris Hill offers many enticements besides a visit to NSM. The Museum is located adjacent to Harris Hill Amusement Park, featuring miniature golf, go-karts, batting cages, a driving range, an arcade, snack bar and more: as well as a pool, picnic grounds and a scenic overlook.

Our trails are open 365 days/year dawn to dusk. Our museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9-5 (May-October) or 9-4 (November-April). Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
