Cat Head Delta Blues & Folk Art
252 Delta Ave, Clarksdale, MS 38614-4213
CAT HEAD is Mississippi's blues store in Clarksdale since 2002 — and your first stop for 'live' music info and more! "It's like shopping in a juke joint. It's the store I always wanted to walk into but could never find," according to owner-operator Roger Stolle. (Stolle moved to Clarksdale to "help organize and promote the blues from within.") The rustic hundred-year-old building is packed with blues, Mississippi, Southern and Clarksdale souvenirs and favorites — including CDs, vinyl LPs, DVDs, books, T-shirts, hats, barware, artwork and much more. Customers can also shop CAT HEAD's large Web Store at www.cathead.biz. Clarksdale, Mississippi, features 'live' blues music 365 days a year. Stolle tracks (and facilitates) it, so can tell where to go, who to hear and what to see. He's also produced blues films and CDs — plus written two books, "Hidden History of Mississippi Blues" and "Mississippi Juke Joint Confidential. Musicians sometimes play out front CAT HEAD store for tips.
