This stunning headland, with its iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic Fort, is surrounded by water on three sides and offers exceptional views across Torbay and beyond. You can enjoy some superb coastal walks, spot wildlife on land and at sea, or simply relax in the award-winning Guardhouse Café. Our Visitor Centre will tell you all about the Reserve, its history, wildlife and the work of Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust. Do check for opening times during off peak season. This is a must-visit day out and is either a pleasant walk from up from Brixham or short drive to the visitor car park. Dogs are very welcome throughout the site; leads are required in certain areas. Disability access is good with tarmac or laid paths into both the North and South Forts.

Golden Hind Museum Ship

The Golden Hind in Brixham Harbour, is one of only two full sized replicas in the world of 16th century explorer and privateer Sir Francis Drake's famous ship. The Ship has been a feature of picturesque Brixham harbour for over fifty years, entertaining and educating thousands of visitors during this time - as well as being featured on many tv programmes and films. The Ship is open come rain or shine and is an all weather attraction with many indoor displays as well as wide open decks and on-board activities.

Brixham Heritage Museum was delighted to be awarded a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence for 2015, the third year running, thank you all for making this possible! We were also joint winners of the Family Friendly Museum Award in 2013,despite nationwide competition. We offer a choice of activities which are suitable for a variety of ages, and we hold many 'special days' both within and outside of our Museum. There are opportunities to become amateur archaeologists, no matter how young, and many other "hands-on" experiences are found on both floor levels inside the building.For all visitors there are a variety of displays ranging from the prehistoric to the 1950s, with particular emphasis on the maritime industry of the area. WW2 Heritage Site with museum. Run by a group of passionate volunteers who maintain the former WW2 coastal artillery battery based in Brixham, Devon. We have an excellent free entry military museum with a range of WW2 (and earlier) artefacts and exhibits; including a genuine wartime Anderson Shelter, naval and anti-aircraft guns. Special Open Days run between March and September with tours of the grounds, uniformed reenactors and weapon displays.

Shoalstone Pool

Shoalstone Sea Water Pool is an iconic feature of the South Devon Coast, being one of only a few remaining sea water pools in the country. Open May to September each year, with lifeguards on duty from 10am to 6pm every day, the 50m outdoor seawater pool is the perfect place to relax, take a dip and enjoy the fantastic views of Torbay. Facilities include a car park, changing rooms, outdoor shower, lockers and sunloungers or deckchairs to hire. Nearby there’s a kiosk and also Shoals Cafe for drinks and food to eat in or take away. (These are independent of the pool.) The pool is run by a dedicated team of volunteers and supported by the local community. There is no entry charge, but we ask for a voluntary donation of £2 per swim or £5 per family to help cover our running costs. Occasionally the pool will be closed for cleaning or for special events – please check our social media channels for up-to-date information. We do not have a contact phone number. South West Coast Path - Brixham Breakwater

A gentle, predominantly level 0.6 mile walk from the South West Coast Path along the breakwater with panoramic views across the harbour and Torbay. There are two stretches of gradient. The harbour edge does not have a handrail or barrier. There are toilets and plenty of car parking at the start or end of the walk. A cafe provides both refreshments and a panoramic view of Torbay.

The Lupton Trust was formed by a group of local people to breathe life back into Lupton House - an old empty school, gardens and woods in Brixham. By pooling the communities’ enthusiasm, skills, expertise and knowledge to deliver a space for the whole community; enabling local people, groups, charities, arts and environmental projects to grow, develop and learn within a magical setting in the heart of Torbay. We run community events, support groups and a range of therapies to help improve the lives of our local community. We are also available for private hire for weddings, funerals, birthdays & large scale events for those wishing to share special memories with us. The Coach House Cafe, is open Tuesday to Friday from 9am -3pm. There is a little gift shop next to the cafe that is open Tuesday - Thursday (volunteer dependant). All of our beautiful lunches are made on site. You can walk the beautiful grounds around Lupton House during the Cafe opening hours.
