This exclusive, 1.75-hour walking tour explores the fascinating history of the Los Angeles Botanic Garden and Arboretum, focusing on the riveting legacy of Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin, a colorful, fortune-seeking land developer and businessman in the late 19th-centre American West and the Arboretum's place in Hollywood. Lucky Baldwin founded the city of Arcadia, established horse-racing, built a hotel, became a vintner and distiller of brandy, entertained lavishly, and in more ways than one envisioned a precursor to today’s LasVegas-style resort. Hollywood has been using the Arboretum for nearly a century, the original "Tarzan" movies, TV's "Fantasy Island" and Katy Perry's music video "Roar" were all set in the gardens. On this exclusive, in-depth tour you’ll visit Baldwin’s historic “Queen Anne Cottage,” and learn about how the land ultimately became the Arboretum Tours take place Fridays and Saturdays at 10:00am and 1:00pm and on Sundays at 1:00pm.
