White Castle is the best preserved and most imposing of the trio of Monmouthshire fortresses known as the ‘Three Castles’ – which includes Grosmont and Skenfrith – built to control the border. Originally constructed from wood and earth, a series of renovations transformed it into the significant defensive structure we see today. The displayed opening times are our general pattern. We are the Abergavenny and Brecon Beacons National Park Information Centre, we hold information all about Abergavenny, Monmouthshire and The Brecon Beacons National Park so if you need to know whats on, what to do, or what to see in the area we are the people to come and see. We have lots of free information as well as books and maps for sale. Our staff and volunteers are all passionate about our wonderful area and would love to help you get the most out of your visit. We are currently closed while we relocate to the Town Hall in Cross Street, where we will be reopening on the 11th of November.
